Navratri starts October 11. You have 21 days to decide whether this is your best booking month of the year, or your most chaotic one.
Every year, salons and beauty parlours across Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and North India face the same two weeks: peak demand for evening Garba hairstyles, waterproof makeup, and saree draping — and booking systems that were not built to handle it. The result is double-bookings, walkouts, and stylists running an hour behind by 5 PM on day two.
Why Navratri booking chaos happens every year
The demand window is narrow. Nine nights. The peak hours are even narrower: 4 PM to 8 PM. Every client wants to be ready before Garba starts. Your senior stylist has four hours and a phone that will not stop ringing.
Salons that take bookings by phone or WhatsApp DM without a real system end up with the same problems:
Two clients arrive for the same 5 PM slot. Someone who “confirmed” over phone but did not actually pay anything does not show up. A walk-in at 6 PM asks for a full bridal makeup set that takes 90 minutes. By night three, your team is exhausted and clients are leaving unhappy reviews.
The fix is not working harder. It is changing how you take bookings before October 11.
The Garba Styling Pass: what it is and why it works
A Garba Styling Pass is a simple product: a client pays an advance deposit (30% of the service price, ₹200 minimum) to book a specific evening slot for Navratri. The deposit goes to your own account before the appointment is confirmed. The slot is theirs. No deposit, no slot.
This does three things at once. It eliminates no-shows — clients who paid a deposit show up. It forces clients to commit to a specific date and time instead of a vague “sometime during Navratri.” And it tells you, right now, exactly how many slots you have filled, which evenings are fully booked, and where you have gaps to fill.
The deposit is credited toward the service. A client coming in for a ₹1,200 Garba makeup set pays ₹360 to book (30%) and ₹840 at the counter. You do not keep money they did not use — you just require commitment upfront.
Which services to bundle and how to price the pass
Keep it simple. One or two packages, clearly named. Clients do not want to choose from eight options when they are trying to figure out which night to come.
Garba Ready (Express): Hair set or blowout, kohl and lip. 45 minutes. ₹800 to ₹1,000. Ideal for clients who do their own base makeup and just need the hair done.
Full Garba Glam: Hair styling plus full face makeup — foundation, eyes, lips, setting spray. 90 minutes. ₹1,500 to ₹2,000. For clients who want the full look done at the salon.
Do not add saree draping or mehndi to the Garba Styling Pass unless you have a dedicated person for it. Mixing services in one appointment creates timing chaos.
How to set up the advance deposit booking on WhatsApp
Your WhatsApp is already where clients talk to you. The booking should happen there too.
Send clients a UPI (India's digital payment system) payment link directly in WhatsApp. The link opens a payment page on their phone. They pay the deposit. You get an SMS confirmation. You then send them a confirmed booking message with their date, time, and service.
The rule is strict: do not confirm the booking until the payment arrives in your account. A screenshot of a payment is not payment. A WhatsApp message saying “I sent the money” is not payment. See the fake UPI screenshot scam that hits salons at checkout — the same risk applies to advance bookings.
Slot is confirmed only when money is in your account.
How to promote your Navratri pass this week
You have three weeks. That is enough time to fill your slots if you start today.
Post on Instagram today — a single Reel or Story showing your Garba looks from last year, or a simple graphic with your two packages and prices. The caption should be direct: “Navratri slots open. Advance to book: 30% of the service price, ₹200 minimum. Only 8 slots per evening.” Add your WhatsApp number. Reply to every DM the same day.
Send a WhatsApp message to your existing client list. If you have 100 clients saved in your phone, message 20 to 30 of your regulars directly. Something short: “Navratri is coming. Styling pass available — reply to book your evening slot.”
Update your Google listing with Navratri services and festive hours. Clients in your area will search “Navratri makeup salon near me” in the next two weeks. Your listing should show what you offer.
What to do when someone cancels after paying a deposit
Decide your policy now and put it in your booking confirmation message. Not after the cancellation happens.
A simple policy: deposits are non-refundable but transferable. If a client cancels, she can move her slot to a different Navratri evening, or to any service at your salon within 30 days. She does not get cash back, but she does not lose the money.
This is fair. It is also the policy that keeps clients feeling respected rather than trapped. And it means you keep the slot — you can rebook it, and the original client often comes back anyway for a haircut or facial.
How Purpilot handles Navratri booking for you
Purpilot sets up festive campaign booking directly in WhatsApp. Clients click a link, choose their Navratri package and date, pay the advance deposit, and receive an automatic confirmation message — all runs without you doing anything.
The advance deposit goes straight to your own account. Purpilot never holds or touches your money. The day before each appointment, your client gets an automatic reminder. After the appointment, a review request goes out automatically.
